Not a huge fan of smoothies but I got some requests for a recipe and I’m here to please the people. 😎⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I don’t like drinking my calories because the body releases the hormones that say “stop eating - you’re full” when chewing and slow eating is involved... not happening with a smoothie. So if you choose a smoothie, keep it lower in calories and pair it with another food to get that hormonal digestion response started! I hate counting calories BUT smoothies can sneak up on you because you can fit so much in that blender, then mindlessly chug it in minutes and still feel hungry shortly after. 😬⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In my smoothie (260 cal, 17g protein, 30% of daily fibre): ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- 1/2 cup plain 2% Skyr
- 2 tbsp PB2 (powdered peanut butter)
- 1/4 of an avocado ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - 1 banana
+ ice and water for consistency ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Compared to Kraft PB, it offers the same protein per 2 tbsp (5g), but only 45 calories compared to 180 🙀. Mixes well into smoothies or stir fry sauces 🤩⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I ate half of a protein waffle with my smoothie this morning so don’t worry I’m taking my own advice even if it isn’t proven with a picture🤥😛⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
