Thrilled. There are no other words to describe this weekend other than thrilled. I have no idea how I placed and for the first time ever, I don’t care. @titan112strongman traveled to Baltimore to compete in Charm City Strongwoman and I couldn’t be more proud to call these women my teammates, friends and sisters. We had a ton of laughs, shared great (and hilariously inappropriate) meals, we cheered for each other and we all hit PR’s. I was careful about my goals for this show and I took time to write out a plan for the day. This was my first competition in 18 months, my training has been inconsistent, haphazard and at times downright lazy, I had major surgery and underwent 3 of the 5 major life changes all at once. My life has been a state of stress and flux for the last 10 months and there were weeks where I genuinely could not see the light at the end of a horribly long tunnel. I am a strongwoman inside and out and I feel grateful and blessed for this wacky little tribe of mine. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has offered advice, listened to me cry, let me crash their date night, cheered me on, told me I was being irrational, fed me, drove hours to hug me, loved me or just let me be me.
SHAKE AND BAKE, BABY! .
Event 1: (no video) circus dumbbell @ 70lbs - zero’d the event which was planned.
Event 2: weight for height (2 each) @ 10lbs, 15lbs, 20lbs to 12 feet - the first 4 went over quickly, the last 2 suffered from failure to launch, as they had in practice.
Event 3: husafell for distance @ 185lbs - 200+ feet, I had been somewhere in the 225-250 foot range in practice but a combo of the heat, a not-so-great nights sleep and poor conditioning meant I didn’t hit my goal.
Event 4: power stairs @ 225lbs - 7 reps whereas I was hitting 5 in practice, a PR that I’ll gladly take.
Event 5: stone over bar @ 165lbs - 3 reps, having only trained with tackyless, baby’s butt smooth stones and having only been able to hit our 145, I’ll take my 3 reps with a smile.
